Itsy Bitsy Forest

Toad & Magic

This cute free standing forest is from the incomparable That Craft Place.  I’ve been working on it off and on for a couple of weeks so can’t quite remember what colours of paint I used (both DecoArt and Cosmic Shimmer Shimmer).  The trees were too bright for my taste so I spritzed DoCrafts Hematite ink spray which added some lovely shadows.  However, they were a bit too silvery from the spray so I then spritzed black and dirty martini Dylusions which made them perfect in their imperfections.  I used to like everything to be smooth and even and then I met Lisa, Neil, and Mark! lol  I now HATE even!  The three trees are now all quite different despite using the same products and techniques and look organic.  I used autumnal colours from the shimmer paints as I wanted the base to look like fallen leaves.  The well named Rich Oak from the shimmer paints was perfect for the stags.

It’s the Mixed Media team’s turn this fortnight at That Craft Place.  We’d love to see your projects!
