I adored the background and immediately thought of crunchy autumn leaves. Added a bit of rich oak paint to clear texture paste and put it through my favourite stencil from TCP to give some linear lines contrast to the tangled stencil. I used the same colours of paint and the tangled stencil on white paper (the super smooth from TCP, my go to paper for everything) and then die cut some leaves. I also used the line stencil with rich oak to suggest veins, but that was less successful. They were quite bright compared to the paint on the black pages so I used some crackle paste and raw umber antiquing cream to blend them into the background more. Then I used some Sue Wilson dies on the shimmer paint/tangled stencil white paper and black card to make a place for the verse.
October is about
hidden all year.
